Water Is Life — Save Water For Our Children's Future

Hello! Corporate Water
Footprint Services

Water Footprint Validation and Certifications

Fresh water is the most precious resource on Earth. Despite covering more than 70% of our planet's surface, less than 3% of that water is fresh — and most of that is locked in glaciers and ice caps. The availability of accessible, clean freshwater is under increasing pressure from population growth, climate change, and industrial demand.

Rexizon Global Solutions offers comprehensive Corporate Water Footprint services: measurement, validation, and certification of your organisation's water consumption across the full product and process lifecycle. We help companies understand the true extent of their water impact and develop credible reduction strategies.

Our methodology follows internationally recognised standards, enabling your organisation to benchmark performance, set science-based targets, and communicate water stewardship to investors, regulators, and customers with confidence.

Understanding
Water Scarcity

Population Growth

The global population is projected to reach nearly 10 billion by 2050. Agricultural, municipal, and industrial water demand will rise in tandem, placing severe strain on already limited freshwater reserves. By 2025, two-thirds of the world's population may face water shortages.

Climate Change

Rising temperatures are disrupting precipitation patterns, accelerating glacial melt, and intensifying droughts. Many regions that rely on seasonal snowpack or rainfall for freshwater supply now face unpredictable hydrological cycles, reducing the reliability and volume of water available for human use and ecosystems.

Pollution

Industrial discharge, agricultural runoff, and inadequate wastewater treatment degrade water quality on a vast scale. Contaminated water bodies cannot be used for drinking, irrigation, or manufacturing without costly treatment, effectively removing enormous volumes from the usable freshwater supply.

What is a
Water Footprint?

The concept of the Water Footprint was introduced by Prof. Arjen Hoekstra at UNESCO-IHE in 2002. It is an indicator of freshwater use that looks not just at direct water use by a consumer or producer, but also at the indirect water use across the entire supply chain.

A Water Footprint is expressed in volume of water consumed and/or polluted per unit of product or time. It is composed of three distinct components:

Green Water

Rainwater stored in the soil as moisture. It is the water evaporated, transpired, or incorporated into the product during the production process. Particularly relevant for agricultural and forestry products.

Blue Water

Surface water and groundwater — rivers, lakes, and aquifers — consumed during production. This is the water that is drawn from the natural environment and not returned to the same catchment in the same period.

Grey Water

The volume of freshwater required to assimilate pollutants to meet ambient water quality standards. It reflects the degree of freshwater pollution associated with a production process or product.

Why Water Footprint
Matters

Water is the hidden ingredient in virtually every product we make, buy, and consume. The vast majority of a product's water impact occurs far upstream in the supply chain — in agriculture, raw material extraction, and manufacturing — and is entirely invisible to end users and even to many businesses.

  • Identify and quantify water-related risks across your full supply chain
  • Benchmark water performance against sector peers and best practice
  • Strengthen ESG reporting and satisfy investor disclosure requirements
  • Support compliance with water-related regulations and frameworks (GRI 303, CDP Water)
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through water efficiency improvements
  • Demonstrate corporate responsibility to customers, partners, and communities
  • Build resilience against water-related supply disruptions and regulatory risk

Invisible Consumption

It takes approximately 15,000 litres of water to produce 1 kg of beef, 1,500 litres for 1 kg of wheat, and 140 litres for a single cup of coffee. Understanding these embedded water flows is essential for organisations that want to manage their resource impact responsibly.

By measuring and certifying your Water Footprint with Rexizon, you gain the evidence base needed to make meaningful reductions — and to communicate those reductions credibly to the world.

Why a Water
Footprint Label?

A Water Footprint Label provides a clear, quantified picture of your organisation's total water use — including upstream and downstream impacts that are invisible in standard operational reporting. This understanding is the foundation for meaningful reduction strategies and responsible resource management.
Measuring water flows at every step of your supply chain reveals concrete opportunities for efficiency gains. Reduced water consumption translates directly into lower operational costs, reduced wastewater charges, and decreased exposure to water pricing risk — delivering tangible financial returns alongside environmental benefit.
Certified water stewardship is increasingly demanded by institutional investors, procurement teams, and sustainability-conscious consumers. A recognised Water Footprint Label signals credible action — not just intentions — and differentiates your brand in a market where greenwashing concerns are high and verifiable credentials command a premium.

        Who We Serve

        Organizations 01

To measure, reduce, and communicate the water footprint of their products, sites, and services — and to embed water efficiency into operational and strategic planning across the full lifecycle.

        In-Process & Circular Water Management 02

Manufacturers and processors seeking to integrate water recirculation, closed-loop treatment, and zero-liquid-discharge approaches into their production lines — reducing freshwater intake and wastewater discharge simultaneously.

        Product Differentiation 03

Brands that want to distinguish their products with a credible, independently verified water label — signalling responsible sourcing and production to retailers, procurement teams, and end consumers who increasingly prioritise sustainability credentials.

        Customers 04

Corporate buyers and procurement departments that want to assess and reduce the embedded water footprint of their supply chains, and to make informed sourcing decisions that align with their own water stewardship commitments.

        Individuals 05

Consumers and professionals who want to understand the water impact of their personal choices — from diet and clothing to everyday household consumption — and to make meaningful lifestyle adjustments that support global water security.

        Our Methodology

We follow the Water Footprint Assessment methodology established by the Water Footprint Network (WFN), grounded in the original framework developed at UNESCO-IHE in 2002. Our approach is fully compatible with ISO 14046 (Water Footprint — Principles, Requirements and Guidelines) and integrates with leading ESG disclosure frameworks.

Every assessment is conducted by certified specialists and subject to independent verification before certification is awarded — ensuring that your Water Footprint Label carries genuine credibility.

        Towards Sustainable
        Water Management

Water is not an infinite resource. The decisions organisations make today about how they source, use, and discharge water will determine whether future generations have access to the clean freshwater they need to thrive. Sustainable water management is no longer simply a matter of regulatory compliance — it is a business imperative, a social responsibility, and an investment in long-term operational resilience.

At Rexizon Global Solutions, we believe that measurement is the first step towards genuine improvement. By quantifying your Water Footprint with scientific rigour, we provide the foundation you need to set credible targets, drive real efficiency gains, and communicate your commitment to water stewardship with confidence.

Together, we can build organisations that use water wisely, protect the watersheds on which communities depend, and contribute to a world where clean water remains accessible for all.
